Inpatient Detoxification
Medically monitored, inpatient detox is a necessary first step on the road to recovery. When an individual actively uses a chemical substance for any length of time, they will eventually build up a tolerance. This means that more of the chemical substance will be required in order for the same desired effects to be produced. Once a tolerance develops, there is a very good chance that symptoms of withdrawal will begin to take hold with abruptly ceased use. Medical detox is necessary for the adequate treatment of withdrawal symptoms, which are always harshly uncomfortable and can be life-threatening when left untreated. At CuraWest we offer a unique, comprehensive and highly individualized addiction treatment program. While our main priority is client comfort, we also believe medical detox and inpatient treatment should offer a wide range of amenities, services and resources that will help set a solid and lasting foundation for long-term sobriety.
Our private, homestyle inpatient detox facility is fully equipped with all of the comforts of home along with numerous additional amenities. The level of clinical care we provide cannot be found in any traditional hospital setting or state-run facility. Once you have been physically stabilized you have the option of transitioning directly into the residential portion of our program. If you have been suffering at the hands of a severe substance abuse disorder and you are ready to take the first step on the road to recovery, contact us today.
Our Inpatient Detox Program
At CuraWest our program of inpatient detox is truly unlike any other. Our homestyle retreat was carefully designed and decorated with comfort and tranquility in mind. Active addiction is truly nothing short of exhausting. For months, years or decades, our clients have been fighting relentlessly for their lives as they grapple with a chronic and relapsing brain disease; one that strips them of their humanity and will to live and makes every single day a living nightmare. We understand just how exhausting living with an active addiction can be, and we have developed a detox program that lends itself to ultimate relaxation. Our private and semi-private rooms come equipped with flat screen televisions if clients decide to relax in their bedrooms as they undergo withdrawal. We offer clients constant access to a state-of-the-art, fully stocked kitchen where they can prepare their own meals and snacks or – if they choose – they can partake in one or all of the three chef-prepared meals that are served on a daily basis. Our medical staff members check in on clients regularly, treating all symptoms of withdrawal as they arise. If deemed necessary we utilize Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) and/or tapering to help minimize the physical discomfort associated with withdrawal symptoms. Our high staff-to-client ratio ensures that no symptoms go untreated and that clients have the care and support they need available to them around the clock. The needs of each individual client remain our number one priority.

While physical stabilization and comfortable withdrawal are main priorities, we also believe in setting a solid foundation for lasting recovery. Because of this belief we offer a wide range of recovery-related services. Clients have access to daily 12 step meetings, which are brought into the facility and conducted by individuals who have years of quality sobriety under their belts. We believe that providing a thorough introduction to the 12 step method of recovery in medical detox is extremely beneficial to the remainder of the recovery process – entering into residential treatment with a deep understanding of Alcoholics Anonymous undeniably makes the transition all that much easier. We offer individual and group therapy sessions, and psychiatric sessions for individuals who might be suffering at the hands of a dual diagnosis disorder. Clients have the ability to participate in whatever group sessions or individual sessions they are feeling up for – we do not require participation, because we understand that comfort and relaxation are key when it comes to inpatient drug and alcohol detox.
Why is Medically Monitored Detox Necessary?
The National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Addiction published a study titled, “An Overview of Outpatient and Inpatient Detoxification.” The study explores the importance of inpatient detoxification when it comes to alcohol abuse and addiction, seeing as the withdrawal symptoms associated with alcohol abuse can be life-threatening if left untreated. Medical detox is always necessary when it comes to alcohol and benzodiazepines, because these two chemical substances can lead to serious and extremely dangerous withdrawal symptoms, including seizures, heart attack and coma. When it comes to other commonly abused substances like opiates, stimulants and tranquilizers, withdrawal symptoms are less likely to cause life-threatening health-related complications – however, they can be extremely uncomfortable, and when not constantly overseen in a medical detox facility they are liable to lead an individual to relapse before the detox process has come to an end.
Our Drug & Alcohol Detox Services Include
In the case of long-term opiate abuse, our clinical staff members often recommend tapering or Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT). Each individual client undergoes an in-depth, personalized medical assessment upon admission, during which the most appropriate methods of detoxification will be determined. The US National Library of Medicine published a study titled, “Suboxone: Rationale, Science, Misconceptions.” Many mistakenly believe that medications like Suboxone have a high propensity for abuse, and that taking prescription medications to help alleviate the symptoms of opioid withdrawal essentially does more harm than good. On the contrary, Suboxone is extremely beneficial as a short-term solution when used in conjunction with other effective detoxification methods. At CuraWest, we understand that medical detox is not a one-size-fits-all process. The methods that best suit one client may not be as effective for another. For this reason, we are dedicated to highly individualized care.
